02 / The founder
Mo Toukhy,
founder.
Mo has spent more than twenty years where creativity and technology meet. He was senior art director at FCB in Dubai, now part of BBDO, and working with other advertising agencies he contributed to the UAE National Day branding and to branding for the Dubai Health Authority.
As art director at The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, he created the design of the Dalí Dome, contributed to exhibitions, and helped develop publications including The Dalí Museum Collection: Drawings and Paintings. It is where his work began to bring in augmented reality and artificial intelligence.
“Library science taught me that information has to be structured, accessible, and discoverable. Art direction taught me that once someone finds something, there has to be a reason for them to care about it.”
Alongside that career he trained in library and information science, and it is how he approaches search today: structure first, so the right people find the work, then design that gives them a reason to act. He founded Enginecy in December 2023 to run both as one practice, and he stays on every engagement himself.
